Blurring the line between sport and lifestyle, the two brands have introduced a fresh take on tennis-inspired footwear with the launch of the T500 sneakers, a retro tennis shoe first introduced in 1982. It was unveiled during last month’s Copenhagen Fashion Week SS25.

“It was important for us to get a different lens on it,” Fitzsimmons says about the Ganni collaboration. “Obviously we have our view, but bringing Ganni and adding their perspective on how the T500 can show up in the market is another fun twist.”
Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup told Forbes its no coincidence that Ganni chose the T500 for their Newer New Balance shoe—it isn’t just about the tennis, rather the “timeless appeal and versatility of the silhouette”that can be styled across a range of moods, adding that the minimalist roots allow it to fit everyday wear.” While New Balance is no stranger to collaborations, this marks their first time working with GANNI, a brand that has made its name with playful yet sophisticated designs. For GANNI, this partnership is a natural extension of their signature approach—mixing bold, expressive fashion with practical elements. Together, the brands have created a shoe that balances New Balance’s history of performance and GANNI’s flair for trendy, street-style aesthetics.
According to Dazed, and the sweet photo styling in the press images, the sneakers feature minimalist details, yet maintain GANNI’s characteristically playful approach to fashion with a signature on-brand leopard backing. The sneakers are available for a limited time in off-white and gray tones on Ganni.com.
