Mark Kenly Domino Tan, founded in 2014, presented his SS25 collection entitled “The Earth” featuring whimsical and timeless occasion wear in luxurious materials, neutral draped shapes and oversized floral embroidery. The show was set outside at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, which has aptly served as the base of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts since its foundation in 1754.

The brand sets out to create vibrant and refined collections founded on tailoring, construction, and fine textiles. This collection was inspired by “cartography and the topography of Earth. The uncontrollable natural forces against the man-made. The rich colourings in the layering of Earth. Gemstones and floral crops” according to the label’s press release.

The collection plays with neutrals and quiet minimalism, with green and earthy tones like clay, quartz, granite, hay and a signature “matcha khaki.” The fabrics highlighted fringy jacquard, sheer rib knit, salt and pepper tweed, bonded cotton and edgy herringbone 3D TEC fabric.

We saw tighter, more contoured silhouettes reminiscent of 1950s ladies’ jackets, paired with full-volume tutu shorts and skirts, and offset by menswear-inspired tapered pants and classic boatneck cuts. The collection also featured bonded cotton voile ruffled inside seams, fabric-covered buttons, raw edges on tweed and a Sunday-best shirt with a new MKDT logo.

Impeccable quality and craftsmanship are at the heart and soul of the MKDT Studio aesthetic. The tailored Atelier collections, made according to the couture tradition, can be found in his design studio not too far from the SS25 presentation, in central Copenhagen.

Mark Kenly Domino Tan Studio’s sustainability aligns closely within the vision of what Copenhagen Fashion Week looks to bring — with timeless design, crafting a closet full of pieces that will survive season after season.

Cut from carefully sourced and natural fabrics, materaisl are selected for its beauty and durability, as well as its ability to alter in expression when shaped and combined in new proportions and silhouettes. Extending the life of fashion garments is crucial for a more sustainable production and that’s exactly the type of timelessness that MKDT achieves.

He collaborated with one of his muses Sara Martinsen on developing showpieces and jewelry. She has created show pieces for the label using raw, unprocessed materials. Her work seamlessly combines beauty with a profound understanding of materials, as each piece is crafted from biogenic plant materials, which absorb CO2 as they grow. He also utilized floral Appliqué on silk and wool developed by Thit Moses, with looks adorned with simple jewelry by Kinraden.
