On a warm afternoon in Copenhagen’s lovely summer, the Danish brand OpéraSPORT kicked off CPHFW—holding their SS25 presentation in the picturesque Exillion Garden, a symbolic location, outside the Opera House (in Danish, called “Operaparken”). The Exillion is a private garden in Copenhagen designed by Peter Wibroe, who aimed to build the most beautiful acre of land north of the Alps. The show was set here against the backdrop of Italian Renaissance and French Baroque influences, and framed the total of 80 classic cool-girl looks celebrating timeless elegance.

Founded just in 2019, right before the pandemic, the brand has survived, grown and evolved thanks to the creative vision of its founders—fashion designer Awa Malina Stelter and stylist Stephanie Gundelach. To understand the essence of the SS 2025 collection, we need to understand the DNA of the fashion house; combining classics and current trends with Copenhagen’s sportswear culture and the cosmopolitan French spirit. And the label’s name reflects that. The label mixes the words “Opéra,” which refers to the elegance and artistic ability of the Grand Opera of Paris (although this year paying homage to the Opera House in Copenhagen), and “sports,” which suggests a athleisure inspired styles that promote the type of freedom and comfort that Scandi Girls need while biking across the lakes from Vestebro to the hip art galleries and indie shops in Nørrebro.

The house has been a Danish cult-classic as it creates styles that mix and match between elegance and comfort that are sporty, sexy, and sustainable; stylish and utilitarian pieces for the sophisticated, cosmopolitan woman. The silhouettes ranged in a delightful mix of feminine elegance and practical fits that created a strong versatility of day to night looks. The fabrics used throughout the looks stayed true to the brands values by exclusively using recycled or organic fabrics. Since the brand’s inception, their collections have been made exclusively of materials made from industrial waste into pieces that are at times couture-like.

The collection’s palette was saturated in on-trend cherry reds, white and black with baby blues, satiny pinstripes and baggy denim, as well as dresses with feminine touches like frills, stripes, and ruching. The looks were paired with black leather accessories and jewelry from @AKVAJEWELLERYCPH, creating styles that were both classic and fresh—with inclusive sizing from XS to XL. The fresh looks were framed with hairstyling by @ORIBE @NICCIWELSH / @NICCIWELSHACADEMY and makeup by @MIILDBEAUTY and @SARAYOUBLUSH.
